“My life has been a crazy adventure lately, I still don´t realize completely what´s going on...” This is how Santiago feels about his insane journey through photography, architecture and traveling. He owns the account @santiagopgm; Instagram basically became part of his life, but there is a story behind it.
He has been a photographer and architecture enthusiast all his life, this last his major. While he was not working as an architect he was capturing everything, focusing more on landscape, travel and city life; at that time, photographing girls was the last thing he had in mind, but one day, everything changed. His friends needed some portfolio pictures but they did not have money to pay a professional photographer, so they asked Rodrigo to take the pictures. He thought it would be fun, but actually the results were great; after that, more girls started asking him for pictures, and this is how the adventure began.
He never took photography courses and he never uses a flash or any kind of artificial lights, he prefers using natural light with awesome results. When Instagram emerged, he already had pictures so he decided to post them everyday and in a matter of weeks he had thousand of followers. This really motivated him to shoot new photos and keep posting them.
At some point he had more than 50,000 followers and girls from everywhere started asking him for portraits. He started traveling around the States crashing in their houses, partying with them and exploring cities. This is how the concept of “traveling with followers” was born.
After meeting amazing people, been featured in magazines, blogs, radio and TV shows, Rodrigo produced and hosted a reality show and made a music video. The essence of his pictures is still the same; just regular girls, no artificial light and a smooth harmony featuring architecture.
